Several years ago, Kathy with portfolio in hand, visited So. Padre Island Convention Centre. Proudly showing her work to the staff opened a new venture for Kathy. Kathy's compositions revolve around sea life and the flavor of So. Padre Island. The staff at the convention centre loved what they saw in her portfolio. Having purchased many watercolor and ink paintings, several are hung in the main office area of the convention centre. The watercolor paintings that hang there feature sea turtles and brown pelicans. Each has a central theme with a fanciful ink and watercolor border around the main composition. The borders echo the central theme along with using other inspirational ideas from the island, such as the causeway, beach umbrellas, parrots, and the lighthouse. When entering the office area of the centre, a visual treat awaits you.
